President Akufo-Addo has assured former football star Mohammed Polo that his administration will take his five-year youth football development plan into account.
This follows the football legend’s February 21, 2023, courtesy visit to the president at Jubilee House. Mohammed Polo came in the Jubilee House to officially hand the president a copy of his five-year development plan for youth football in Ghana as well as his autobiography, “Polo The Magnificent: The Tale of the Dribbling Magician.”
The president gave him his word that the government and the organizations in charge of directly overseeing youth and football-related issues in the nation would give his proposed five-year youth football development plan the attention it required.
Despite the fact that they are no longer actively involved in the field, inhabitants of this nation, according to Nana Addo, continue to exhibit a keen interest in the advancement of their nation.
He praised Mohamed Polo and expressed his appreciation for giving his government the chance to collaborate in order to implement the five-year plan.
‘It is a real love of country that you demonstrate in doing that, and I find it very commendable and highly appreciated. It is an example you are setting for the future generation of people that long after you have stopped playing, you can continue to have an interest in and impact on the development of sports’, Nana Addo said to Mohammed Polo.
Mohammed Polo described the chance he had to provide the president his life story and a five-year youth football development plan as a miraculous opportunity.
He noted that his five-year development plan, dubbed “Agoro,” had been meticulously prepared and, if put into practice, would aid in the growth of young football talent throughout the nation.
Nii Odai Anidaso Laryea and Ken Bediako collaborated on Mohammed Polo’s biography. It has 105 pages and eleven chapters with images from Mohammed Polo’s playing career and everyday life as a football player.
Mohammed Polo served as a coach for the Accra Great Olympics, Accra Hearts of Oak, and the Malian team Stade Malien.
