Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko’s Super Cup match called off

Date:

The Super Cup matchup between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko has been decided upon by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The MTN FA Cup winner and the Ghana Premier League champion compete in the cup match during the off-season.

As a result, the two tournament winners, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, were scheduled to square off in the Super Cup as a prelude to the 2022–23 football season.

The Executive Council of the Ghana FA convened to deliberate about the Super Cup amid rumors that both clubs were considering withdrawing.

The GFA Exco voted to cancel the Super Cup at the conclusion of the meeting.

The choice was made to allow both teams enough time to get ready for the forthcoming season.

The second phase of Hearts of Oak’s and Asante Kotoko’s preseason preparation has already started.

While Hearst of Oak has travelled to the Ashanti Region, Kotoko is currently in Sudan.
