WAFU U-17: Ghana beat Togo 3-0 to qualify for semi-final of tournament

Date:

Ghana’s under-17 team, the Black Starlets, defeated Togo 3-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium to advance to the next round of the WAFU Under-17 tournament.

The Black Starlets got off to a poor start in the encounter, scoring no goals in the first half. The Togolese attempted a few shots on goal but were unsuccessful in the first half.

The Black Stars had a few chances in the second half and Pius Duah scored the game’s first goal.

After dribbling past Togo’s goalie, winger Andrews Appiah nearly scored the second goal, but his effort hit the post.

Abdul Razak Salifu, a Dreams FC substitute, scored the second goal for the Black Starlets with a curler after going past his marker.

Collins Agyemang’s goal-bound shot was handled by a Togolese defender, and Ghana was awarded a penalty.

Collins Aygemang scored from the penalty spot to give Ghana a comfortable victory and go to the competition’s semi-finals.

Nigeria, which topped the group after defeating Ghana 4-2 and Togo 3-1, qualified the Black Starlets for the next round.
