4th CAA REGION II ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP : Athletes to battle for Olympic spots

Athletes from the ECOWAS region will compete in the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Region II seniors athletic championships live on Max TV from the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The competition’s participants will have the chance to secure a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics on June 4 and 5.

There will be outstanding performances by 314 athletes representing Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Sierra Leone, and the host country, Ghana.

This tournament is one of three that World Athletics (WA) recognizes as a means for competitors to earn an Olympic qualification.

The other two are the Sixth Challenge Meeting on June 6 and the Athletics Soneglaz International Meeting in Algeria on June 1.

As competitors compete for the opportunity to compete against the finest in the world at the Olympics, expect an electrifying atmosphere with colorful fans from throughout the ECOWAS region.
