Abu Bakr Issa’s 51st minutes strike was enough to place Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan on top of Group F in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Sudan took on Niger at the Juba Stadium on Wednesday afternoon for a place at next year’s biggest continental showpiece.
Though the Sudanese controlled proceedings, shots on target were close as they mustered eight shots on target compared to their opponent’s two.
Niger will take on the Black Stars of Ghana on Monday, September 9, in the next qualifier, as Sudan travels to Luanda to face Angola.
