2022/23 GPL Wk 20: Dreams FC draw 0-0 with Karela Utd

Date:

On March 4, 2023, Dreams FC and Karela United played a match at the Theatre of Dreams that ended scoreless.

Due to injury, the hosts were without the assistance of Agyenim Boateng, their leading goal scorer.

Since neither goalie was needed in the first half, both teams played very cautiously. Both teams missed clear chances to score goals, and the first half ended with no goals scored.

After the break, the teams’ strategies remained largely same. Karim ZIto demonstrated his intent by making a double replacement on the 65th minute to insert Ali Huzaif and Ishmael Dede.

Dreams changed to a front three, which was sufficient to overcome Karela’s defense, which was content to go back to Aiyinase with a point at this time.

Gael, who was on the receiving end of a counterattack, had the finest opportunity of the second half. The striker simply needed to beat the goalkeeper, but the Karela goalkeeper’s leg stops him in his tracks.

During halftime, the winnings were split between the two teams.
