Afrobeat singer Wendy Shay, after gaining momentum in the year under review at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), only took home the Best Afrobeat/Afropop Artist of the Year award.
She beats the likes of Kidi, Gyakie, Kojo Blak and Moliy to win the award.
Wendy Shay was one of the few who looked promising and was believed to be a threat to rapper Black Sherif as far as the artist of the year award was concerned.
Out of her seven nominations, including Artiste of the Year; Album/EP of the Year with her Ready or Crazy Love EP; Afrobeats Song of the Year; Collaboration of the Year; International Collaboration of the Year; and Most Popular Song of the Year, she won the Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year.
Wendy Shay never disappointed her fans by being one of the phenomenal female artists who had produced hit upon hit every year to gain the Afrobeat Artiste of the Year.
