The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released all withheld results from the 2024 WASSCE, ending weeks of uncertainty for affected candidates. Over 10,000 results were initially withheld due to suspected malpractice, but WAEC had assured the public they would be available by February 28.
This follows a legal battle and pressure from the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), which had threatened protests. The court’s ruling forced WAEC to comply, ensuring all affected candidates received their results.
WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed in an interview with Citi FM that all withheld results, including those involved in legal issues, have been released. He reassured candidates that WAEC remained committed to transparency and fairness.
“As promised, we uploaded all withheld results by February 28. The court ordered us to do so, and we have fully complied. There are no outstanding results,” he stated.
WAEC expects some candidates to reach out with queries in the coming days but maintains that the published results accurately reflect candidates’ performance
