The controversy has begun as the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) announced the artistes who made it to the 2025 list of nominations.
In this year’s edition, dancehall prodigy Stonebwoy once again logged horns with Black Sherif, King Promise, King Paluta, Kweku Smoke, Joe Mettle and Team Eternity for the coveted Artiste of the Year award.
Among the major categories, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther, Diana Hamilton, Empress Gifty, Team Eternity Ghana, and MOG Music were competing for Best Gospel Artiste of the Year.
Meanwhile, the Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year category featured strong contenders, including: Asylum – Olive The Boy, Paris – King Promise, Lomo Lomo – KiDi ft Black Sherif, Very Soon – Fameye, Jejereje – Stonebwoy, Aseda – King Paluta, Puul – Lasmid, Defe Defe – Team Eternity Ghana, January 9 – Black Sherif.
Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste would also see Samini battling it out with Stonebwoy, Rocky Dawuni, Epixode, Jupitar and Ras Kuuku while the
Best New Artiste would drive AratheJay in contention with Team Eternity, Kwesi Amewuga, Beeztrap Kotm, Rap Fada and LalixLola
The announcement was made on Saturday, March 15, following the conclusion of the nomination process.
The highly anticipated 26th edition of the awards is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
