Stabbed Ghanaian in Manchester Identified as Alberta Obinim

The victim of a stabbing incident that has rocked the Ghanaian community in Manchester has been identified as Albert Obinim, a 43-year-old Manchester resident.

Obinim, who died, and two others, one of them known to be Elder Josua, and a 17-year-old girl, are also battling for their lives. They were stabbed at a property in the Gorton area of Manchester, England.

The incident, which was said to have occurred on Barnard Road, Gorton, around 11:20 p.m., was perpetrated by a 22-year-old man who has since been arrested by the Greater Manchester Police.

Ibrahim Abu, a Ghanaian community leader in Manchester, described the victim, Obinim as a “lovely woman” who was very much loved.

“Yesterday she was at church, dancing and praising. She was at church… and we wake up and hear she has died,” Abu said.

“We hope they will come back to us in good health,” he prayed for the other two victims.

The Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with detectives working around the clock to get to the bottom of things as the Ghanaian community remained in shock
