The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin, has announced the coveted Democracy Cup trophy will be presented to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
Ahead of the 2025 Democracy Cup, which has been rescheduled to Friday, September 5, the trophy will most likely make its last stop at the Office of the President of Ghana on September 1.
Prior to the visit to the President, the trophy will be presented to the Gã Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II; IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo; GFA President Kurt Okraku; and other dignitaries.
Hon. Bagbin hoped for the President’s appearance on the day of the event while speaking at the announcement for the rescheduled date at the Parliament House on Friday, August 22.
He promised the parliamentarians would give the judiciary a run for their money when the two face off in the curtain raiser of the Democracy Cup at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
