The first gentleman of the land, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has appointed 11 individuals to the Council of State.
In accordance with Articles 89 to 92 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, these 11 appointees would provide advisory support to President Mahama.
These nominees include former Speaker of Parliament, who would be the Chairman of the council, Edward Korbly Doe Adjaho, Cletus Avoka (former MP for Zebilla Constituency), Betty Mould Iddrisu (former Attorney General), Justice Vida Amankwanua Akoto-Bamfo (former Justice of the Supreme Court), Dr. Eunice Brookman-Amissah (former Minister of Health), and Molly Anim Addo (former Ambassador).
The others are Daasebre Boamah Darko (Chief of Akyem Kukuratumi), Osabarima Kwesi Attah II (Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area), Mankpanwura Jakpa Achor-Ade Borenyi I (Paramount Chief of the Mankpan Traditional Area), Cynthia Komley Adjetey, and Nana Saa Gyanfuaa II (Queen Mother of Ayima Traditional Area).
