Watching Kai Havertz humiliate Chelsea to enhance Arsenal’s title chances is the most surreal football fans may have seen this season.
The Gunners’ 5-0 thrashing of rivals Chelsea at the Emirates on Tuesday night propelled them above Manchester City and Liverpool, as they have played two games more than the former and one more than the latter, piling pressure on the chasing pack.
Mikel Arteta’s men shook off their shock 0-2 home loss and Champions League exit with back-to-back victories over Wolves and City.
It will be unwise to bet against the Gunners as they head into a North London derby next in their quest to become champions since they last did in the 2003–24 season.
Arteta was in awe of the German’s performance after the game in his post-match interview with the BBC: “His overall contribution in every phase of play was tremendous. When you add the two goals he scored and some of the link-up play that he had in big moments, it was a great performance.”
Fans will be hoping Kai Havertz will keep on scoring, especially in crucial parts of the season, as Arsenal have won every game he has scored in.
