Phasing Out Double-Track System To Not Affect Access— GES

Date:

Qualified graduates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are expected to begin their senior high school journey on September 18, 2026.

Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations for the Ghana Education Service (GES), in an official press release disclosed that efforts are being made for students to be placed into schools.

He further urged the public to disregard reports of 72,000 students at risk of not being placed in senior high schools.

The process of phasing out the old and stressful double-track system implemented by the previous government will not in any way affect the placing processes.

The return to school in September will be the second time, post-COVID, that second-cycle students will officially begin the academic year in September.
