Ghanaian football legend Mohammed Polo says he is the best Ghanaian player ever and that is not a boast but a fact.
The man known as the “Dribbling Magician” says this is obvious for all to see because the likes of Abedi Pele have tagged him as their idol.
Ghana’s former national team football captain Abedi Ayew Pele recently revealed in an interview on GTV that he looked up to Polo when he was growing up.
Abedi Pele who is also referred to as the Maestro, believes Mohammed Polo is one of the best players he has ever seen in Ghana.
There continues to be hot debate about who is indeed the greatest Ghanaian footballer ever.
With divided opinions on this particular issue, Polo stressed that Pele’s admission clearly shows he is the best ever to grace the green pitches of Ghana football.
“If a whole Abedi Pele is saying am the best, he looked up to me coming up as a player with all what he has done for Ghana then who else should I wait for to say I’m the best .”
Polo believes that the deep pool of talent in the country means sooner or later other special players would emerge.
“I’m just hoping that these young ones will come and break the record that I have set in Ghana. ”
Polo during his playing days was touted as one of the best, veteran sports journalist and President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Kwabena Yeboah says Polo is the best player he has ever watched.
