OLYMPIC DREAM SHATTERED: Black Queens lose 4-3 to Zambia’s Copper Queens on aggregate

Date:

The Black Queens of Ghana have been eliminated from the women’s tournament of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Despite a valiant effort in the second leg against the Copper Queens of Zambia, they fell short of overturning the aggregate scoreline, losing 4-3 over two legs.

The first leg saw Ghana’s Black Queens suffer a 1-0 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana, despite dominating the match. In the second leg in Zambia, the Black Queens managed to secure a 3-3 draw, with goals from Gifty Assifuah, Doris Boaduwaa, and Azumah Bugre.

However, this wasn’t enough to secure progression to the next round of qualifiers. Zambia advances to the final round of qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games.
