Rap Doctor Okyeame Kwame has revealed that his parents did not bless his marriage since he defied the religious beliefs of his family.
He said his wife, Annica Nsiah-Apau, was a Jehovah Witness while he was not, so their love clashed with their faith and belief system, thus making his family hesitant to welcome his wife into the family.
In a recent media interview, Okyeame Kwame stated that he did not succumb to the pressure from his family; rather, he fought to be with the good woman God blessed him with.
He noted that the success of a marriage depended on the blessings of God and not human approval.
“Both families loved each other, but because of religion, they didn’t agree. I told my mom about the marriage a night before the marriage because I understood that I was not going to marry the lady for my mother but for myself,” Okyeame Kwame stated.
He said that due to that, he did not get blessings from his mother when he married in 2009.
