Kotoko makes fabulous title-hunting statement win

Date:

Asante Kotoko pulled off a spectacular performance against Vision FC on Sunday, January 19, as they edged closer to the top spot.

Kwame Poku scored his third league goal since returning to Kotoko in the 7th minute of the game before Nana Amponsah’s equalizer in the 15th minute.

Despite the setback, the Porcupine Warriors kept controlling possession and eventually regained the lead soon after through Amidu Acquah.

Poku bagged his second of the game just a few minutes before halftime when he tapped home Patrick Asiedu’s low cross from the left.

Former Bofoakwa Tano captain, Saaka Dauda, sealed off a superb first half performance and delivered all three points for Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s men with a brilliant lob over Vision FC goalkeeper, Franklion Yamoah.

Kotoko will welcome Karela United next at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, January 24, 2025.
