JUST IN: FC Samartex to Face Victoria FC in CAF Champions League Prelims

Date:

FC Samartex 1996, Ghana’s Premier League champions for the 2023/24 season, are set to make their debut in the Total Energies CAF Champions League. They will face Victoria United FC from Cameroon in the first preliminary round of the competition.

The first leg of the qualifiers will take place in Cameroon, with FC Samartex traveling for the initial encounter. They will then host Victoria United at the Accra Sports Stadium for the return leg.

If successful against Victoria United, FC Samartex will advance to the second round in September, where they could potentially meet either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan powerhouse Raja Club Athletic.

Excited about their maiden Champions League campaign, FC Samartex aims to make a significant impact and secure a favorable outcome in their matches.

The first preliminary round matches are scheduled between August 16-25, with the second round set for September 13-22. Additionally, FC Samartex has confirmed that their group-stage matches will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
