Fans of the once glorious Accra Hearts of Oak have been left extremely frustrated and disappointed by the poor performances in the 2024—25 season.
A number of football pundits, including Max TV’s Ernest Nana Adu and respected football statistician Felix Romark, have called for the Ivorian gaffer to step down from his position as head coach of the club.
The club, plagued with much negativity on the field, narrowly escaped relegation in the 2023—24 season after took over as head coach in January 2024.
Perhaps to Ouattara, he has outperformed and overachieved, considering his shocking objective for the current season, which was to avoid relegation.
Hearts appear to be a pale shadow of themselves after beating Asante Kotoko, and West Africa Football Academy to the GPL title and MTN FA Cup in the 2020-21 season with former head coach Samuel Boadu, who was sacked the next season for poor on-field performances.
Compared to the previous season, it may be argued Ouattara stays to continue the rebuilding project of the club; to others, Hearts is not a rebuilding club and is expected to challenge for every single trophy.
The latest defeat to Aduana sums to eight losses in the league and has resulted in their drop to 7th on the table.
