Asante Kotoko lose ground in GPL title hunt

Date:

Asante Kotoko lost grounds in their pursuit of the 2024—25 Ghana Premier League title after a heavy 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions.

Two goals in the first half from man-of-the-match Jacob Awoute and David Akintunde broke down the Porcupine Warriors.

As Lions continued to dominate the midfield with blistering attacks, Akintunde doubled his tally and increased his team’s lead in the 73rd minute.

The result moves Accra Lions from the relegation zone for the first time this season, as Bibiani Gold Stars extended their lead at the top of the league standings, who travelled away to defeat Bechem United 0-2.
