Elite U-15 Championship: Ashanti Region beat Brong Ahafo to win trophy

Ashanti Region won the maiden Elite U-15 Girls Championship after defeating Brong Ahafo Region 2-0 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Keziah Akua Asantewaa and Franklina Onyinah scored to highlight Asanteman’s dominance in the competition as they clinched the coveted trophy.

Ashanti Region’s Ruth Ayayee was adjudged the best player of the competition, and Upper West’s Azimpaga Mohammed won the Goal Queen award for scoring the most goals (4) in the competition.

Abdulai Warama Borsu of the champions was named the best goalkeeper of the season, while the most promising player went to Western’s Rachael Kuruwaa.

The competition is part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS), which is for the development of young players and is implemented by the Ghana Football Association.
