BROTHERS: Tonight (THURSDAY 17TH) On Episode 129

Date:

The episode begins with Delfin and Cardo extending their condolences to the Tuazons. Again, Tomas gives Cardo that momentary cold treatment. While Tomas and Joaquin mourn, Cardo begins wondering why they’ve been acting hostile towards him when all he wants to do is help. He brings up the oddity of Verna not having shown up for both the wake and funeral of Rachel and Delfin starts noticing the red flags.

Don Emilio engages Tomas in an argument over how he’s turned his daughter into a prisoner and making her into a zombie with the medication he’s been giving her. He demands that he put an end to his madness. However, Tomas declares himself as the leader of both the family and the business and goes to issue some threats. Emilio tries to express his outrage and the goons turn against him, even Froilan his right-hand man.

Cardo experiences the same haunting dream again, with Carmen’s voice calling out for justice for her death. However, it’s more vivid this time as Carmen materializes right in front of his eyes.

“Cardo, I need justice for my death,” Carmen wails.

“Carmen? What do I need to do?”

“Only you can help me. Please help me and Ador, Cardo. Please seek justice for our deaths. You need to help us, Cardo. Only you can help us.”

Lorraine makes tons of printouts and shoves them in the faces of her mates in an attempt to prove that she’s not into drugs. At home, the Arevalos talk about Cardo and his fateful encounter with Alyana. Later, the entire family pay a visit to the de Leons and Flora gladly invites them over for dinner.

Don Emilio tries to go see his daughter but Froilan and some other goons prevent him, acting on Tomas’ orders. Emilio rants and vows to cut off Froilan’s balls when he gets the chance. Meanwhile, Cardo and Alyana’s families converse happily over dinner.

Later, as Cardo does the dishes, Alyana offers to help him out, asking why he’s doing it. Cardo recounts how he had been separated from his family and eventually had to learn living on his own.

“With each day, you keep impressing me,” Alyana says. “Because there aren’t a lot of guys like you anymore.”

Flora brings out the family photo album and shows the Arevalos a photo of Cardo’s twin brother and his then wife, Carmen, revealing that they’re both no longer with them. Delfin mentions how Ador had suffered the same fate as his father, Pablo de Leon by meeting his end in the line of duty. Next is a photo of Pablo and Teddy with a young Cardo, Ador and Alyana. A flashback shows some moments the trio had together as kids, though Alyana can’t seem to remember any of it.

“I’m sure Cardo hasn’t forgotten,” Flora says.

“I didn’t know that was Miss Alyana,” Cardo muses. “I can’t believe she was the kid who punched me.”

Cardo goes to have a talk with Joaquin about the attack on Rachel and Verna and he mentions the dreams he’s been having of Carmen who keeps on asking for justice for her death. Later, Alyana tries to get some info out of the jackass and the miserable swine unleashes on her.

BROTHERS

The CIDG deliberate on the names on the official watch list, ready to investigate and clamp down on them in hopes of discovering their protectors. Sometime later, the police and the CIDG arrest tons of drug users as well as their supervisor who turns out to be a rotten cop.

The CIDG interrogate SPO2 Regalado, asking if he’s taking orders from a higher-up. The corrupt cop insists that he’s working alone. However, Cardo and the others are quiet convinced that he’s protecting someone. Joaquin has a talk over the phone with one of their protectors who just happens to be a high-ranking officer, General Jacob. The chief of precinct 8 gives Jerome a promotion.

Cita wails about the ill-treatment and imprisonment of Verna in her own house. Don Emilio expresses his disgust at Tomas’ actions, mentioning that he’s waiting for the right moment to strike back at his treacherous son-in-law.

Later, Cita sneaks over to the room Verna is confined in, just as Verna pushes herself from bed and approaches the door while Andrea the nurse is busy sleeping. She asks Cita for help but Cita says she doesn’t have the key. Cita tries telling Verna about Rachel’s fate but she’s soon caught by Tomas who goes ahead to have Verna sedated again.

Tomas has a talk with Cita, indirectly threatening to get rid of her if she proves herself a liability and Cita promises not to tell Verna the truth. Joaquin informs his grandpa about Cardo’s dreams and the possibility of him reopening Carmen’s case on account of it.

Meanwhile, Alyana arrives with Pinggoy at the hospital and asks for the room Verna is admitted in, and a nurse informs her that she had already been discharged last week.

Cardo reveals to Billy and the rest of the family the strange dream he had about Carmen asking for justice for her death. At the Tuazons, Verna regains consciousness and asks to see her daughter and Tomas goes on with his elaborate lies and act of misguided concern, saying that she needs to recover first and all that he’s doing is to protect her.

“I don’t need your protection,” Verna says. “As far as I’m concerned, this marriage is over.”

“C’mon, Verna. This family deserves another chance.”

“Okay. I’ll give you another chance. If you bring me to Rachel.”

“Alright. Tomorrow.”

While Don Emilio plots to save Verna and get rid of Tomas, someone sends a letter to Cardo at the CIDG. “Dalisay, did you think Carmen’s case was solved? Her killer’s still out there.”
