Popular Nigerian singer Asake has finally voiced out concerns raised on his new face tattoos.
According to him, the tattoos were to elevate him to have a new look that better suits his style in the industry.
Speaking with Billboard on the red carpet of the 67th Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 2, Asake said he loved to feel comfortable with himself.
“This is how I feel now. I love to feel comfortable in myself, in the things that I feel are good for me, not even about anybody.”
“I might wake up tomorrow, and you guys may not see any tattoo on my face,” he said.
Touching on his outfit for the occasion, Asake stated that he was in his “military era” and that he liked to dress exactly how he feels.
The 67th Grammys, held on Sunday in Los Angeles, was Asake’s first nomination.
The 30-year-old singer was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, which his compatriot, Tems, won for her song “Love Me Jeje.”
Meanwhile, Asake is rumoured to have parted ways with Olamide’s record label, YBNL.
