Anti-aging foods to add to your diet

Date:

Incorporating anti-aging foods into your diet can help support overall health and reduce the visible signs of aging. Here are some top anti-aging foods to consider.

Vegetables
Vegetables such as leafy greens— spinach, kale and collard greens, and cruciferous plants like broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that support eye health and reduce inflammation.

Carrots
Aside supporting eye health and immune system function, the high level of beta-carotene in carrots acts as an antioxidant, helping to slow down the aging of cells. It also prevents premature wrinkling, acne, pigmentation, blemishes, uneven skin tone, dryness to the skin, hair and nails.

Walnuts
Walnuts are a great anti-aging food because of the amount of omega-3s in just a handful. These omega-3 fatty acids are real longevity tools, which support heart health and cognitive function.
They are also rich in antioxidants.

Chia and Flax Seeds
These seeds aren’t to be joked with. Chia seeds and flax seeds are high in fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart health and digestion. Your skin also benefits greatly from their omega-3 fatty acids content.

Fatty fish
Whatever is packed with omega-3 should naturally be your go-to when it comes to anti-aging foods. So, salmon, sardines, tuna should top your list because of their extremely high omega-3 fatty acids content, which support heart health and cognitive function.

Eggs
Do not underestimate those crates of eggs! Aside being rich in protein, eggs are rich in vitamins and minerals that support eye health and cognitive function, keeping you forever youthful.

Legumes
Legumes such as lentils, chickpeas and black beans are high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants, which support heart health and digestion.

Avocados
Avocados are packed-full with healthy fats, fibre and antioxidants, which support heart health and digestion. These vitamins and healthy fats help to nourish the skin; meaning, eating them can keep your skin looking smooth and youthful.

Olive and coconut oil
Oils such as olive oil and coconut oil are high in healthy fats that support heart health and cognitive function. Coconut oil also particularly supports energy production and weight management.

Dark chocolate
Eating dark chocolate can increase circulation in the skin and improve its ability to retain moisture as some of the most visible signs of the aging process can be seen in our skin.
Dark chocolates also contain flavonoids that may help improve heart health and cognitive function.

Green Tea
Green tea has been used as an anti-aging treatment for many years. It contains vitamin B2 and vast anti-oxidants that prevent your skin from showing age fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin B2 tightens skin and makes it firm in appearance. It also helps improve heart health and reduce the risk of certain cancers.
