Former Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimović believes that Lionel Messi, despite being 39 years old, remains a player capable of turning the tide in the biggest matches.
The Argentine legend demonstrated this once again by leading his team to victory against Jordan on the third and final matchday of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage .
Once again, Messi lit up the match with a superb direct free kick, scoring his sixth goal in the competition and confirming his status as the Albiceleste’s technical leader.
“I think they really know that. This is his 6th goal. Probably he will score more than that and we enjoy him playing,” Zlatan said of his former Barcelona teammate.
The Albicelestes will face surprise package from Africa, Cape Verde, next in the round of 32.
