Aduana FC’s clash against Asante Kotoko was easier than the former’s head coach, Samuel Boadu, predicted prior to it.
Aduana’s 2-0 victory at the home of Kumasi Asante Kotoko may have appeared straightforward on paper, but it was far from easy in reality.
An early lead by the Ogya Boys through Stephen Amankona, following a Danland Ibrahim howler, went according to the plans of Boadu.
In his post-game reaction, the league-winning coach stated he predicted an early goal in their favour.
“I told my players before the game that we would get an early goal, so they needed to stay concentrated when maintaining our attacking balance.”
He continued: ““Tactically, it was a fantastic game. Both teams played well. We came in with a tactical plan, and my boys executed it very well,” he praised his players.
Despite going a man down, Aduana remained tactically disciplined and sealed the win late on through a superb counterattack finished off by Seidu Saana.
This is the first league victory over Kotoko since 2021.
