England’s top goal scorer, Harry Kane, shares immense excitement and pride after reaching the round of 16.
The Three Lions, led by their captain fantastic Harry Kane, took on the tough DR Congo in the round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on July 1st.
DR Congo nearly caused an upset, but the much more determined England produced a stunning comeback victory.
Kane, who scored twice in eleven minutes, shared the glory with his teammates despite a stunning hero moment, expressing how proud he was of them.
“I am proud of the group, proud of the boys. We spoke before the game about how difficult it would be… We played some really good stuff in the final 25 minutes of the game… We kept the belief. We kept the ball. And one of us had our hero moments today,” said Kane.
England’s next game is against a well-drilled and well-motivated Mexico team at the iconic Azteca stadium on July 4, 2026.
