Former Asante Kotoko captain now turned coach James Kwesi Appiah is doing absolute wonders with the Sudan national team.
It does not come as a surprise for many who have known him for years, and even his loyal supporters.
After all, he is the first Ghanaian head coach to qualify the Black Stars of Ghana for the biggest football competition on the globe, the FIFA World Cup in 2014.
Kwesi Appiah took over as head coach of Sudan in 2023 during a time of political turmoil and successfully guided a struggling team to its current state.

He qualified his team against all odds for the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, beating his former team Ghana in the process.
His performances are highly appreciated by the Sudanese government to the extent that he’s the fifth highest-paid head coach at the 2025 AFCON.
