Families Flee Homes Amidst Gbenyiri Conflict

Date:

Families are forced to flee their respective homes in Gbenyiri due to an ongoing conflict.

Max Digital on Monday, August 25, 2025, reported a violent clash, which resulted in the deaths of five people and six others injured.

The clash was over a piece of land sold to a private developer, forcing the deployment of military and police led by Savannah Regional Police Commander DCOP Awowolo to restore peace in the community.

Tensions escalated when the chief of the area and his son visited the site being worked on by the developer. They were reportedly killed by one other faction involved in the dispute.

Food and other essentials have been provided to victims displaced by the unfortunate events in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.
