Former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko head coach James Kwesi Appiah has stunned the Home Eagles of Nigeria with Sudan.
The Ghanaian gaffer’s Sudan team took on Nigeria in the second round of matches of Group D of the 2025 African Nations Championship.
Nigerian tabloids referred to the game against the Sudanese as a must-win in their various pre-match analysis.
However, despite their dominance in the possession of the ball, it was Sudan that flooded the goal of Nigeria with not just one, but four by the end of the game.
Khedr’s strike and Raouf’s second-half brace added to Ngenge’s own goal to end the match 4-0 in favour of Sudan.
Nigeria are facing an embarrassing elimination from the competition after failing to accumulate points in the stage of the competition.
A draw or loss to Congo in their final round of matches will see the mighty Eagles crash and break down on land.
