Fast rising musician, King Paluta is calling on the board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) to explain the reason his hit track “Makoma” did not gain nominations for four categories he filed for.
According to a letter written to the TGMA on March 18 by King Paluta and his team, “Makoma” was submitted for Most Popular Song, Record of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year and Songwriter of the year for the 26th TGMA.
However, the viral song was not nominated for any of the four categories it was filed for.
“We humbly write to your honorable board to demand some explanations in connection with the snub of “MAKOMA” by King PALUTA, a song we duly submitted for consideration which we believe remains Ghana’s most popular song released the year under review, generating the most excitement amongst music lovers till date,” the letter read.
Paluta expressed confidence that his song breached no moral or ethical requirement of the TGMA board and believed it deserved a recognition in any of the categories.
“We believe in the competence of the TGMA board and trust that a convincing reason be issued to our team, music enthusiasts and general public on this unpopular decision of the board,” he added.
The management of the artiste was also ready to engage for possible consideration of the song in the categories submitted for earlier.
