Hosts of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco, have been handed a tricky Group A draw.
Mali, Zambia, and Comoros are set to butt heads with tournament favorites Morocco for a spot in the round of 16.
In Group B, Egypt will face off against Angola just as in the previous edition of the competition in Ivory Coast in 2024.
South Africa and Zimbabwe will have a tough task at hand in battling the Pharaohs and Palancas Negras for a place in the next round.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will have a chance at redemption after coming so close in the 34th edition in 2024.
With a fourth AFCON in sight, the Nigerians have been drawn in Group C with Uganda, Tunisia, and Tanzania.
Making a return after a 12-year absence from the competition, Botswana is placed in Group D with Senegal, DR Congo, and Benin.
Kwesi Appiah and Sudan appear to have been given a fairly competitive group stage challenge in Group E, taking on Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.
The final group of the tournament will feature defending African champions Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique.
