FIFA Best Awards: Who did Otto Addo vote for? Vinicius Jr or Rodri

Date:

Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, voted for Manchester City star Rodri for the Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year.

The 2024 Best FIFA Awards took place in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Spanish star Rodri, who beat closest rival Vinicius Jr to the 2024 Ballon d’Or, this time lost to the Brazilian in a close contest.

Vinicius Jr received 48 points, three more than Rodri, who got 45 points.

One journalist, captain, and coach from each country’s senior national team under FIFA votes count for 25%.

Though none of the captains of the Black Stars voted, Otto Addo voted for Rodri, with his second and third votes going to Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr respectively.

Respected Ghanaian journalist Gary Al-Smith went for Vinicius Jr as his first choice, Rodri, and Dani Carvajal.
