A renowned local poet, Nana Asaase, says actor Kofi Adu, known widely as Agya Koo, is the one who made him fall in love with Kumawood movies.
He chose Agya Koo among actors like Akrobeto, Mercy Asiedu, Nana Ama McBrown, Lil Win, and Kwaku Manu.
Nana Asaase said among those listed actors, Agya Koo’s words were more refined and witty aside from the jokes he cracked.
The poet expressed his admiration for Agya Koo during an exclusive interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday.
He noted that Agya Koo’s presence in the industry brought lots of education and showed his maturity state of mind with the roles he mostly played as an actor.
Nana Asaase said how the comedian crafted his words to show a wise man speaking, and his contributions in the Kumawood industry could not be downplayed.
“What I love about Agya Koo is his witty sayings. Though he could joke around, his words were heavy and full of wisdom. Agya Koo once said, ‘Where the lips will reach in destroying you, the legs can never reach there.’ This is witty,” he explained.
Nana Asaase noted that the character of Agya Koo in various movies proved a cultural person teaching the rich culture of the country, and he learned a lot from his character.
He admitted that Mercy Asiedu, Akrobeto, Nana Ama McBrown, Kwaku Manu, and Lil Win were all great actors, but the knowledge of Agya Koo was incomparable.
