Asamoah Gyan appeals for support for musicians

Date:

Former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan, known in the showbiz arena as Baby Jet, has called for financial support for musicians in the country to help them project local music.

According to him, the assistance musicians had been gaining was not sufficient to take the country’s music industry to new heights.

Speaking in a recent media interview, Baby Jet observed that for the local musicians to compete evenly with other international aristes, much needed to be done by stakeholders and the citizens at large to help promote their crafts.

He noted that most Ghanaians did not even stream local music and advised them to put a stop to the act.

“With today’s technology, listening to music is as simple as taking your phone with you. Additionally, they ask us to listen to our artists’ music, but we don’t even do that,” the former footballer bemoaned.

He underscored the need for the citizenry to support their own to help propel the industry and attract investors into the country.

Asamoah Gyan is a multi-talented individual who has left a lasting impression on the Ghanaian music scene with singles including ‘African Girls’ featuring Castro and ‘Odo Pa’.
