#MAXAFCON2023: Nigeria’s Lookman frightens Hugo Broos

Date:

Head coach of the senior national team of South Africa, Hugo Broos, has named Atlanta and Super Eagles star winger Ademola Lookman as one to watch when his side comes face-to-face with Nigeria in the semi-finals of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

The South Africans defeated Cape Verde 2-1 on penalties in the quarterfinals, while the Nigerians triumphed over Angola by one goal to nil.

Ahead of the crunch semi-final on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Broos singled out the Italy-based Lookman as the player who could hurt his side.

“Nigeria is a team who became better and better every game, so when I saw them playing, it’s again a very good team with a very good striker,” he said to the press.

“There are also a few good players like the one who scored the goal, Lookman, a very good player, so we have to analyze a little bit more now because we didn’t at the time,” he added.
