GPL: King Faisal, Legon Cities, Karela record wins as RTU hold Bechem United

Date:

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, King Faisal defeated Eleven Wonders 1-0 for their first win in ten games.

Enoch Morrison scored the game’s sole goal in the 34th minute, slamming home a Samuel Kusi cross.

With the win, King Faisal climbs to 13th place with 34 points, while Eleven Wonders falls to 16th place with 32 points.

Accra Lions upset WAFA 1-0 at Sogakope Park, with Seidu Basit scoring the game’s only goal. The lanky forward got on the end of a deft cross to head home the game’s only goal.

Accra Lions climb to 9th place with 39 points, while WAFA remain in the relegation zone, 17th in the table.

At the CAM Park in Aiyinase, Karela United beat Accra Great Olympics 1-0 late in the game. The game was heading for a goalless draw until Great Olympics’ Richard Berko scored in the 90th minute.

After a 2-2 draw at the Aliu Mahama stadium, Bechem United earned a crucial away point against Real Tamale United. Bechem United took the lead in the 21st minute through Emmanuel Owusu, but RTU equalized 10 minutes later when they were granted a penalty in the 32nd minute. Roland Frimpong scored from close range to send the home crowd into raptures.

RTU’s tally was boosted thirteen minutes after the break by Issah Kuka, but substitute Hafiz Wontah Konkoni cut short their celebrations by scoring late in the game to deprive Real Tamale United the three points.

Dreams FC was defeated 2-1 by Legon Cities at the El Wak stadium in another road loss. The Still Believers had been off their game in recent games and needed a win to get back on track, but that did not happen as they were defeated by the Royals.

Legon Cities scored two goals in the first half through Michel Otu and Yousssifou Atte, before Dreams FC cut the deficit in the second half through Sadat Mohammed.

At the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC drew 0-0.

At Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa, bottom-placed Elmina Sharks put up a valiant effort to draw 0-0 with two-time Champions Aduana FC.
