25/26 GPL MD4: Medeama Bag Win, Lions Hold Kotoko, As Hearts Stay Unbeaten

Date:

Kpando Heart of Lions hold on to first place in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) standings despite a draw in Kumasi.

The Volta-based club were hosted at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, October 5, by Asante Kotoko in a goalless draw.

Young Apostles recorded an impressive away win over the struggling Eleven Wonders. Richmond Opoku scored in the 87th minute to hand Wonders the win.

Former GPL champions Medeama SC returned to winning ways courtesy of goals from Emmanuel Owusu and Salam.

Medeama took the lead in the 11th minute, but Nations FC fought back, levelling the score through Emmanuel Annor.

Salam popped up from the bench with the winning goal in the 82nd minute, handing Ibrahim Tanko’s men all three points.

Newbies to the league, Hohoe United, the pride of Hohoe, recorded an outstanding 4-1 win over Karela United at home, as Bless Ege scored his first goal for the visitors.

Basake Holy Stars suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Berekum Chelsea, as they were stung by goals from Anane and Shaibu.

A game many looked forward to, FC Samartex against Aduana Stars, had to be postponed due to heavy rainfall in Sameraboi.

Defending champions Bibiani Goldstars pipped Swedru All Blacks in their backyard to a 0-1 win on Saturday following their exit from the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

Hearts of Oak kicked off matchday four with a goalless draw against Bechem United in Bechem, as they remain unbeaten so far in the league.
