On his first game in charge of Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino oversaw a magnificent performance.
Poch handed several youthful aspirants the chance to shine against Wrexham in sweltering Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with a starting XI that had an average age of just under 20.
Later, Conor Gallagher came off the bench to score, along with Ben Chilwell and £52 million newcomer Christopher Nkunku.
Nicolas Jackson, a striker who cost Chelsea £32 million, and the other two of their four summer additions have already made an impact. Jackson’s lightning-quick movement would have thrilled his new coach.
