Academic activities at Denyaseman Catholic Senior High School have been halted in Bekwai following a heavy downpour on Wednesday, February 11.
The campus, already lacking adequate infrastructure, has been left with debris in the aftermath of the storm, which also affected residents in the Poano community.
A classroom block in the school is near collapse, with its roof torn off as desks, chairs, tables, and other learning materials have been scattered.
“The winds were very strong, and we could see the roof shaking before it finally came off,” an eyewitness said.
“The children cannot continue lessons there because it is too dangerous,” another resident added.
