Media Personality MC Yaa Yeboah has described veteran secular musician now turned Evangelist, Papa Shee’s new funeral date announcement as uncalled for, unnecessary, and disrespectful to the Chiefs of Manhyia.
Papa Shee is believed to have publicly announced the date of Daddy Lumba’s funeral as March 14, 2026, attributing the new date to outstanding issues surrounding the burial as opposed to December 13, 2025 which the Kings of Manhyia approved.
A family spokesperson identified as Mama China had since apologized for the public announcement done by Papa Shee and wanted the issue to be reconsidered by the chiefs of the palace.
She argued that some of the children of Akosua Serwah Fosuh who were in the state were having an examination on the said date, thus the funeral would not favour the children.
In response to this during an interview on Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday, Yaa Yeboah indicated that Papa Shee made a big mistake to have announced a new date which no one had greed upon.
”What papa Shee did was uncalled for, unnecessary and I think it’s very disrespectful to the kings of Manhyia. It’s extremely disrespectful! The genuine discussion is that if under 13th it’s not going to happen, go and sit down and discuss it,” she lamented.
Yaa Yeboah considered the act of Papa Shee as a gross disrespect to the authorities in Manhyia Palace and vehemently expressed the need for such an act not to be condoned.
”My point is that if you don’t respect Manhyia why did you invoke the King’s sacred oath? Why? Because, it is the highest authority and they are very fair. They will never rule in favour of anyone so if you feel that you won’t respect it, then why did you invoke it in the first place?” she queried.
Yaa Yeboah expressed regret about the development and underscored the need for considerable measures to be taken in curtailing the disgrace that is mounting the funeral arrangements of the legendary Daddy Lumba.
