MultiChoice Fined for Pricing Non-Compliance

Date:

The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has announced that MultiChoice Ghana will face a daily fine of GH₵10,000 from August 14.

The directive will remain effective until MultiChoice Ghana provides detailed pricing information requested by the National Communications Authority (NCA).

Hon. Sam George disclosed he met with the pay-TV operators of DStv after days of intense back and forth, forcing the soon-to-be owners of MultiChoice, Canal+, to step in to resolve matters.

In good faith the Ningo-Prampram MP waived off an initial daily fine required by the regulators (NCA), GH₵10,000, which began from August 5 when he met the delegation on August 15.
