A four-person Interim Management Committee (IMC) has been appointed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to manage Asante Kotoko’s operations.
The Kontomponiaferehene and chartered accountant Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua is one of the four members, according to sources.
James Kwesi Appiah, the previous coach of the Black Stars, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the newly appointed coach of Kotoko, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, the administrative manager, are the other members.
Up until the club’s administration is changed, the committee will manage Asante Kotoko’s business.
This comes after Otumfuo dissolved the Asante Kotoko board and management members earlier this month after their three-year terms expired.
The committee’s duties include making sure the club complies with all Ghana Premier League regulations and building a strong team for the upcoming campaign.
Ogum led Kotoko to the league in the 2021-2022 after joining from season West African Football Academy (WAFA) before leaving the club after several issues with the immediate-past management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.
