Afrobeat singer Mr. Drew has described Kuami Eugene as a liar after the latter claimed in an interview that he used legal means to compel “the case” crooner before he would pay him his share of the money he made from the song.
It could be recalled that Kuami Eugene, in a recent interview, said many musicians for whom he wrote versions of their hit tracks had failed to acknowledge him, and he cited Mr. Drew as an example.
Kuami Eugene said he involved his lawyer before Mr. Drew could pay him for writing the said song and further stated that he was younger than Mr. Drew, but he came into the industry before Mr. Drew did.
“Mr. Drew might be older than me, but I came before him so I could bully him. Mr. Drew is like a next-door neighbor; we can vibe. After all that happened, he still called and sent me 50% of my royalties,” he said.
In response to this assertion on his Twitter X handle, Mr. Drew cautioned Kuami Eugene not to flex with the belief that he was younger than him and termed him a Jon boy.
“Aside from the fact that he’s a liar, who made him think being younger than someone is a flex? Jon boy,” Mr. Drew wrote.
