Celebrated comedian Emmanuel Nkansah Ansong, known by his stage name Lekzy DeComic, says KSM revived comedy in Ghana.
According to him, the popular TV personality KSM promoted English comedy when the industry was dull and comedy was fading out.
Lekzy DeComic, in a media interview, praised KSM and mentioned his name as one of the figures he learned from in the industry to become the comedian he was today.
“I want to give credit to some people who started before he [KSM] came to the scene and made contemporary comedy more attractive.”
“The genesis of comedy began with them… I will say that for the revival of English-speaking comedy and stage performance, I will give credit to KSM. He is an inspiration. When I wanted to do comedy, he was a reference point,” he said.
Lekzy Decomic also acknowledged the efforts of Fritz Baffour, Tommy Annan Forson and others who contributed to the promotion of comedy in Ghana.
