The second coming of Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum as head coach of Asante Kotoko has ended in disaster, as the club parts ways with him.
Dr Ogum, who remained optimistic of leading Kotoko to win the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League despite losing to city rivals, Nations FC, in a matchweek 28 encounter.
Asante Kotoko have won once in their last five league matches despite securing a semi-final spot in this season’s MTN FA Cup.
Ogum’s sacking comes as a surprise to a number of loyal fans of the club, unlike others who many a time questioned his style of leadership and coaching at the club.
The club made official of news the his sacking after growing rumours of fans’ and some unnamed players’ displeasure at the current on-field form of the team.
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has this afternoon parted company with Head Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.
This decision was reached following constructive discussions between both parties, with a shared understanding that it is in the best interest of the club at this time.
We thank Coach Ogum for his dedication and service to the club, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

A caretaker coach would be charged to steer the footballing affairs of the club till a substantive coach is appointed to take over.
