Highlife singer, Fameye, has revealed that he spent more than $15,000 on his performance at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
The costs include fees for the directors and dancers as well as costumes and props.
Fameye disclosed this during a recent media interview while he was talking about his stage performance during the event.
“I’m sure I’m one of the few artistes that spent much on that night. We spent a lot, it was over 15,000 dollars because we had to sew costumes for myself and the dancers, build the set and props, pay the directors, and everything,” he said.
The “Nothing I Get” hitmaker said the costs were approved in a budget he submitted in advance to the TGMA organizers.
Despite the cost involved, Fameye said there were also technical setbacks and everything was not as accurate as people deemed it.
“I didn’t feel it. My band told me that we have tried. I had a feeling like it was (not great). People have to talk about it because it was good but I had setbacks that personally I think if not for those reasons, I should have been the number one performer that night.”
“We had a preset and it was supposed to be played that day. What I was supposed to hear was different from what the audience was supposed to hear.”
“But nothing was played and I was waiting for my in-ear to play but it didn’t happen, my band was not hearing anything,” he added.
