Deputy ministerial vetting: Mahama Asei Seini, three others to be vetted today

Date:

The Appointments Committee of Parliament will continue vetting for Deputy Ministerial nominees later today, Monday, June 14, 2021.

The committee will vet four nominees beginning with Deputy Minister-Designate for Foreign Affairs, Thomas Mbamba, Deputy Minister-Designate of Works and Housing, Abdulai Abanga, Deputy Minister-designate for Health, Mahama Asei Seini, and Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, Mohammed Hardi Tuferu.

The vetting for the forty nominees is expected to end on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

So far, 31 of the nominees have been vetted by the committee.

The Committee last Friday vetted Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development without the Minority members.

The Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has served notice that the caucus will block his approval due to the outcome of the Techiman South parliamentary election in 2020 that led to the death of two people and left others injured.
