The director general of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has been left impressed by Ghana’s head coach, Carlos Queiroz.
The Portuguese coach was hired as a replacement for Otto Addo, whose performance since the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification was deemed unsatisfactory.
Known as the ‘Mission Man’, the Mozambique-born gaffer arrived 72 days to the start of the World Cup and promised to take it game by game at his unveiling.
Having coached about nine countries and led six to the World Cup over the years, Mr Ankrah asserted his experience is truly valued by the players.
Speaking to Max TV’s Thierry Nyann, the NSA director general, an impressed Mr Ankrah rated the coach “8 out of 10”.
